About Us

In our services we...Read the Word, Sing the Word, Preach the Word, See a picture of the Word in the elements of communion. We do this so that we may see Christ more clearly, know God more intimately, and worship Him more acceptably.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

OUR CORE
VALUES

1.  God’s Word as our exclusive foundation

We seek to give God’s Word the preeminent place in all the ministries of the church through the public reading of God’s Word, preaching God’s Word, teaching God’s Word, singing God’s Word, praying God’s Word, and seeing God’s Word in the ordinances. (2 Timothy 4:1-5; Colossians 3:16-17; 1 Timothy 4:6).

2. Historically Reformed, evangelical theology as our unifying belief

We recognize Scripture alone as our ultimate authority, and that its truths teach that we are saved by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in the finished work of Christ alone, all to the glory of God alone (2 Corinthians 4:4-6; Ephesians 2:1-10; John 14:6; Ephesians 1:3-14; 1 Corinthians 4:7).

3.  Christ-centered, expository preaching as our faithful stewardship

The Word of God changes lives; therefore, we are committed to expository preaching which seeks to allow Scripture to speak to us within its own context for our instruction, encouragement, and correction (Romans 10:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

4.  Gospel-focused ministry as our resolved philosophy

We desire to avoid merely moralistic teaching devoid of the gospel that would make Bible stories about us and how we ought to behave in our own strength, but instead allow the Scriptures to point us to the grace of God given to us freely in the gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord (Galatians 1:6-11; 1 Corinthians 1:23; 2 Corinthians 4:1-6; Philippians 1:20-30)

5. Discipleship as our lifelong commitment

Discipleship is the process of that training which involves communicating spiritual truth from God’s Word from one believer to another, so as to grow spiritually and mature together as
followers of Jesus Christ, as we learn together how to walk out the truths of God’s Word in our lives. (Eph. 4:11-13, Heb. 10:24-25).

6.  Outreach as our joyful mission

Outreach is our passionate mission, both as individuals and as a community of believers, to joyfully join God’s plan to reach men and women of all people groups with the gospel of Jesus Christ, both locally and globally (Genesis 12:2-3; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Revelation 5:9).

7. Prayer as our humble dependence upon God

Prayer is our individual and corporate declaration of dependence upon God. It is our corporate responsibility to ensure that all aspects of ministry and fellowship be preceded, undergirded, and empowered by prayer as modeled by Jesus Christ. (Matthew 6:9-13, Luke 11:1-13; Luke 18:1-8; John 17: Acts 6:4)

8. Christian fellowship as our collective responsibility and privilege

Because all believers are in Christ, our fellowship with one another and with God is part of and is based upon the fellowship that exists between God the Father, Son and Spirit (John 17). Fellowship with God and one another is cultivated as we live out the truths of God’s Word together. (Heb 10:12, Romans 4:25, Matt 27:46, John 17:20-26, I John 3:16-18,1 John 4: 7-8, Eph 4:16)
